Suspect in Lake Hefner shooting killed

A passerby shot and killed a man who went into a Lake Hefner restaurant Thursday evening and opened fire.
Oklahoma City Lt. Jeff Flaggert said officers responded about 6:30 p.m. to Louie's Grill and Bar, 9401 Lake Hefner Parkway, where the shooting had occurred.
Capt. Bo Mathews said a man, whose name has not been released, went into the restaurant and opened fire, wounding two people. After leaving the restaurant, the suspect was confronted by a person who was armed with a gun and opened fire, fatally striking the suspect.
Two people were taken from the scene in emergency status to OU Medical Center, said Lara O’Leary, spokeswoman for Emergency Medical Services Authority.
Mathews said one person fleeing the scene suffered a broken bone in his arm.
The suspected shooter was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ron Benton, 54, of Oklahoma City, was at the bar in Louie's when he heard gunfire coming from the front doors. He said he didn't see anyone shot, but he went outside with others who rushed out the doors.
Benton said a man pulled up in a sport utility vehicle and had a gun. The gunman, wearing protective earphones and eye glasses, was holding a gun in one hand. The man refused to drop it and the other man with the SUV opened fire, Burton said.LOG IN

  1. I live less than 2 miles away from Louie's. There were actually TWO good guys with guns. Both of them saw what was happening and went to the trunks of their cars, got their guns and went back to protect those people. Bryan Whittle and Carlos Nazario were the good guys with the guns. http://www.news9.com/story/38279920/police-2-men-stopped-shooter-at-louies-on-lake-hefner
