Dramatic moment knifeman is thrown through the air after pedestrians TACKLED him from his getaway bike as he tried to flee police during a city centre chase

  • This is the dramatic moment a knifeman is thrown through the air after a pedestrian tackled him  from his getaway bike as he tried to flee police during a city centre chase.
    Muaz Tarafdar, 20, was smashed to the ground after trying to escape from the scene of a fight outside a hotel in Cardiff. 
    The video footage was recorded by a bystander on the street and shows Tarafdar cycling away towards a set of traffic lights, before he is knocked down by a man in a blue hooded jumper.

    District Judge Bodfan Jenkins told him: 'You had in your possession a particularly, if not highly, dangerous weapon in very dangerous circumstances.

    'In the circumstances of the case this clearly crosses the custody threshold. There can be no reason for suspending the sentence.'
    Defending, Nia James told the court her client had a 'significant difficulty with cannabis' and uses 'a joint a day'.
